Chuck Berry, R.I.P.

When I used to listen to Chuck Berry as a kid in the 50s -- "School Days" was an anthem for us at the time; he was what roll 'n' roll was all about -- I had no idea that he could ever die, as he did today at age 90.  His great songs, among them "Johnny B Goode", "Rock and Roll Music", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Maybellene", "Sweet Little Sixteen", and more, immediately conjure up specific time and place memories for me.  Here and here are a couple of NYT pieces on the man.  And here is one of his many performances with other legends, such as with Keith Richards, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, this example with Tina Turner:
