When I used to listen to Chuck Berry as a kid in the 50s -- "School Days" was an anthem for us at the time; he was what roll 'n' roll was all about -- I had no idea that he could ever die, as he did today at age 90. His great songs, among them "Johnny B Goode", "Rock and Roll Music", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Maybellene", "Sweet Little Sixteen", and more, immediately conjure up specific time and place memories for me.
